Learning outcomes

Students learn the standard topics of Arabic language.

Comprehension of written and spoken Modern Arabic.

Usage of modern Arabic grammar more than traditional grammatical methodology.

Course contents

The course will be articulated in the following lines:
- A brief history of the development of the alphabet; Fundamental notions of phonetics, a full orthographic knowledge, morphology and elements of syntax; Grammer: the article, the pronouns (personale pronouns and demonstrative pronouns), the noun (masculine and feminine), interrogative particles, "Idhafa", the adjective (adjctive pattern, comparative and superlative of the adjective), the simple nouminal sentence (al-Mumbtada' wa al Khabar), the simple derived form of the verb (perfect and imperfect), the cardinal numebers (cuonting with masculine and feminine nouns).
