Course contents

The course will explore the multifaceted relationship between text and staging. The central theme of the analysis will be the concept of travel, considered in physical, internal or metaphorical terms. Several significant dramatic texts and productions, selected from the masterpieces of Western theatre, will be examined as case studies.

After this initial examination, students will be guided by a professional playwright as they attempt to write a short text on the theme of travel.

Any administrative, technical-practical and organizational requests must be forwarded exclusively to the teaching tutor of the course, Dr. Marco Argentina, at the following email address: marco.argentina2@unibo.it.

Achieving a comprehensive understanding of the topics covered, mastery of expression and specific language, originality of reflection, and familiarity with the tools of dramatic and stage analysis will be evaluated with excellent marks. A predominantly rote or rote knowledge of the subject matter, an incomplete ability to synthesize and analyze, or correct but inappropriate language will result in a fair grade. Occasional gaps in mastery of the subject matter, poor ability to synthesize and analyze, and inappropriate language will result in a passing grade. Significant gaps in learning, inappropriate language, or an inability to analyze dramatic and stage texts will result in a failing grade.
