Learning outcomes

The course is about medieval languages and literatures belonging to the Iberian Romance domain (Galician-Portuguese, Castilian, Catalan). It is aimed at deepening linguistic skills (history of the language and historical grammar) and at acquiring more competence in the principles of ecdotics (history of tradition and textual criticism). Both the linguistic and textual aspects are framed within the history of literature. As for the skills to be acquired, the course intends to develop methods in technical analysis (metrical, stylistic, rhetorical, etc.) of texts.

Teaching methods

Lectures. Seminar sessions are planned, allowing for open discussion and group in-depth analysis of the topics covered.
