Academic Year 2025/2026

  • Teaching Mode: In-person learning (entirely or partially)
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Medicine and Surgery (cod. 5904)

Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide students with the essential elements for a general theoretical and practical understanding of the main primary and secondary diseases and syndromes involving, from a medical perspective, the kidneys and excretory pathways, with the goal of providing key elements for:

  • a correct methodological and conceptual approach to primary and secondary urological and andrological diseases;
  • a characterization of the pathogenesis of diseases of urological and andrological relevance;
  • the acquisition of clinical scenarios and knowledge of prevention, differential diagnosis, clinical course, decision-making, and potential complications.
By the end of the course, students will know the basic concepts of the main pathologies of urological and andrological interest, along with the biochemical, instrumental, and clinical investigations necessary for their diagnosis, and an overview of therapy. Thanks also to participation in scheduled internships and elective monothematic courses, by the end of the course, students will possess the theoretical-practical foundations to recognize the type of pathology by evaluating its symptoms, clinical signs, and laboratory and instrumental tests."
