Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, student possesses knowledge related to to strategic communication in nursing and knows the main techniques of therapeutic communication. He/she will acquire skills in interpreting patient communication and know functional healing-oriented responses from a bio-psycho-social perspective.

Course contents

The body-mind connection: historical and conceptual framework.

Neurolinguistics and neurophysiological effectiveness of words: scientific evidence and applications

Hypnotic communication

The neuroception and engagement: theoretical and practical elements

Care Relationship: creating successful rapport

Nudging and performative techniques (reframing, shifting, metaphors)

Clinical hypnosis: evidence, applications, conceptual framing.

Ideoplasia and plastic monoideism

Attributes of suggestive language

Theoretical and practical structure of hypnosis: from pre-talk to anchoring

Modulation of anxiety, pain and symptomatology through hypnotic communication and clinical hypnosis: theoretical and practical elements

Additional types of strategic communication: counseling and assertive communication
