Learning outcomes
To achieve a proper knowledge of forensic sciences and legal medicine. In particular, to obtain a more detailed expertise on social sciences, criminology, forensic psychopathology, forensic pathology, forensic toxicology, bioethics and professional ethics.
Course contents
Teaching will focus the following topics:
- Legal medicine and forensic sciences: Introduction
- Basic concepts about Law
- Crimes against persons
- Basic concepts about forensic pathology and tanatology
- Death, Brainstem Death and Brainstem Death Diagnosis
- State of Apparent Death
- Medical Doctors and paramedics in the italian law system
- Obligation to rescue and to inform about crimes of MDs and paramedics
- Mental disorder and other causes of diminished respobnsivbility
- Welfare state and related benefits in Italy
- Medical Liability and Malpractice
- Pregnancy protection and Abortion law
- Forensic Imaging and Radiology
