Course contents
This course, divided into two modules, provides essential knowledge of labor law, with a specific focus on health and safety. It particularly emphasizes the preventive perspective and the integrated management of occupational risks.
Special attention is given to the activities of the Prevention and Protection Service and its related legal liability regime.
The course program includes the following topics:
I. Introduction to Labor Law-
Subjects and sources of regulation.

Differences between private and public employment relationships.

Characteristics and evolution of the Italian regulatory system for health and safety in the workplace.

Legislative Decree No. 81/2008, also known as the Consolidated Law on Health and Safety at Work, and subsequent amendments: scope, subjects, bodies, and organizational structures dedicated to preventing occupational risks.

The Prevention and Protection Service: Duties and responsibilities; analysis of case law regarding the role of the Head of the Prevention and Protection Service.

The European precautionary principle: pandemic risk and risks from unknown technologies.

Teaching methods
Classes will take place in the second semester.
In addition to traditional lectures, "Learning by doing" activities are planned to address key legal issues that have emerged in case law.
In line with University guidelines, lessons will be conducted in a blended mode (in-person and online), unless students are promptly notified otherwise.
Assessment methods
The final exam will consist of both a written and an oral component.
The written exam will cover the topics in points I. and II. of the program.
The oral examination will focus on the topics indicated in point III. of the "Program and Contents."
The exam will be graded considering:
