Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student will be familiar with the main laws and regulatory frameworks related to their specific professional qualification, as well as with the broader legislation concerning healthcare professions, including the principles of professional ethics and deontology.
The student will also have knowledge of the general topics covered in the legal section of the national collective labor agreement for employees in the healthcare sector.

The second healthcare reform (Legislative Decree 502/1992) and the establishment of professional profiles

Professional Profile: meaning, content, and implications for the profession

National Federation of the Orders of Radiographers and of Technical, Rehabilitation and Prevention Health Professions (Federazione nazionale Ordini TSRM e PSTRP)

The Code of Ethics

Readings/Bibliography

Selected articles from the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic, related to healthcare reform and the regulation of healthcare professions.

Code of Ethics of the Biomedical Laboratory Technician, published by the National Federation of the Orders of Radiographers and of Technical, Rehabilitation and Prevention Health Professions (latest available version).

Teaching methods

Lectures.

The Wooclap platform will be used for intermediate assessments of students’ level of understanding.


Assessment methods

The final assessment consists of a written assignment on one of the topics covered during the course, to be presented during the exam session using a PowerPoint presentation.

If the student does not pass or is unable to attend the exam session, the assessment will take the form of an oral examination.

The student will receive a grade, which will contribute to the final mark (out of thirty) of the integrated course.
