Learning outcomes

Perform basic wound assessment and care. Perform simple surgical manouvres.

Course contents

Introduction to the surgical environment: operating room layout, roles of the surgical team.

Principles of asepsis, antisepsis, and sterile technique.

Basic surgical instrumentation: identification and safe handling.

Fundamentals of knot tying (single knot, double knot).

Introduction to simple suturing techniques on models/simulators.

Basics of wound care and dressing.

Patient safety concepts: checklists, error prevention, teamwork in surgery

Teaching methods

Final grade will be expressed on a scale of 30/30, with honors (cum laude) if applicable.
