Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student possesses the main knowledge that proves the good practice of care in the processes that are articulated in the autonomous practice and/or in the caring team. Knows the methodology for finding evidence that regulates good clinical-care practice.

Course contents

How the EBM/EBN/EBP cultural movement arose and what it consists of. An overview of the methodological foundations of EBP. Limitations and obstacles. Characteristics of biomedical information and research. Experimenting with the formulation of clinical care questions and understanding the sources of evidence of effectiveness. Experimental internet connection for searching sources in the most important databases through AlmaStart Unibo (Pubmed,Embase, Cinahl, Cochrane LB, Joanna Briggs, UpTodate).

Teaching methods

Frontal lesson/Exercises in small groups

Assessment methods

Writing of a paper in small groups (to be sent via email to the instructor at least 7 days before the exam). This will be followed by an individual oral exam on the work produced.
