Learning outcomes
After completing this module, the student will have the necessary theoretical know-how and practical skills in respect of the principles of physiotherapy and of manual massage, through the precise knowledge of all therapeutic instructions and contraindications.
Course contents
Programme/contents: methodology of massage and its practical application, characteristics of massage, mechanical and psychodynamic effects, indicators and counter indicators. Techniques and their application. Practical tests.
Scar massages.
Instrumental physical therapy: general introduction; form of energy and application in physiotherapy.
Thermotherapy: effects of heat, counter indicators, endogenous and exogenous thermotherapy; paraffin therapy; infrared rays; ultraviolet rays; radar therapy; tecar therapy.
Ultrasound therapy; Cryo-ultrasound therapy.

Shock waves
Electrotherapy: type of current, iontophoresis, diadynamic, interferential, TENS, faradiccurrents, Kotz; denervated muscles and types of current applied; partially denervated musclesand types of currents applied;
Lasertherapy: types of lasers and their application; indicators and counter-indicators, method of application.
N.B. Based on the type of activities and teaching methods involved, to complete this course all students are required to follow modules 1 and 2 in e-learning mode, then to take part in module 3, which involves specific training on health and safety in places of study/internship
