Learning outcomes
The student has basic knowledge in the field of diagnostic imaging and medical radio-biology, with particular attention to radiation protection.
Course contents
Outline of the history of radiation protection and the legislative framework of reference for the protection of health and the environment: from the discovery of x-rays to accidental events. The Legislative Decree 101/2020. Radioactivity, radiation and interactions with matter.
Effects of ionizing radiation: stochastic damage (somatic and genetic) deterministic damage. Irradiation in utero. "Chronic" and late effects of radiation.
Radiation protection doctrine: physical and medical surveillance of radiation protection in health workers.
Radiation protection doctrine: principles of radioprotection of the worker.
In consideration of the types of activities and teaching methods adopted, the frequency of this training activity requires all students to carry out specific training modules on safety and health in the study / work placements provided both electronically and in person.
