Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student will acquire knowledge of the macro- and microscopic anatomy of the central and peripheral nervous system.

Course contents

Overview of the Nervous System: Structure, Function, and Divisions;

Neurons and Neuroglia;

Protective Structures of the Nervous System and Vascularization;

Cerebrospinal Fluid;

Central Nervous System: Spinal Cord, Brainstem and Cranial Nerves, Cerebellum, Diencephalon, Telencephalon;

Peripheral Nervous System and Autonomic Nervous System.

Teaching methods

Lectures with extensive use of images and videos, aimed at facilitating the acquisition of fundamental anatomical knowledge through the stimulation of visual memory.

Assessment methods

The examination is oral and will consist of a series of questions aimed at assessing the student’s knowledge of the topics covered during the lectures.

The partial grade for each module will be averaged (weighted according to the number of CFU) with the partial grades obtained in the other modules of the integrated course.
