Academic Year 2025/2026

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Dental Hygiene (cod. 8481)

Learning outcomes

Understanding of major cellular functions, with a focus on the mechanisms involved in the following processes: expression, duplication, and transmission of genetic information; development; cell differentiation and proliferation; and cell-to-cell interactions. Understanding of the transmission and expression of hereditary traits in humans.

Teaching methods

Frontal teaching.

Classroom activities guided by the teacher, aimed at helping students clarify and deepen their understanding of previously discussed topics.

Self-assessment tests.

Assessment methods

Written exam (1 hour), consisting of 32 questions with multiple-choice or open-ended answers. Each correct answer is worth one point. A minimum of 18 points is required to pass the test.

Students with learning disorders and\or temporary or permanent disabilities: please, contact the office responsible (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/en/for-students) as soon as possible so that they can propose acceptable adjustments. The request for adaptation must be submitted in advance (15 days before the exam date) to the lecturer, who will assess the appropriateness of the adjustments, taking into account the teaching objectives.

Teaching tools

A computer is used to display illustrations and diagrams from textbooks or scientific articles, as well as short videos.
