Course contents
Physical exercise is a fundamental element in promoting health, improving physical efficiency, and preventing numerous diseases. This module provides both theoretical and practical foundations on the different types of physical activity, the physiological adaptations they induce, the principles of training dosage, and the role of exercise in managing overweight and promoting overall well-being.
In particular:
Exercise DosageTo achieve optimal benefits, it is essential to properly dose physical activity according to the FITT principle:
-
Frequency: how often per week.
-
Intensity: the level of effort required.
-
Time: duration of each training session.
-
Type: the specific modality of exercise chosen.
-
Cardiovascular training: involves aerobic exercises that produce specific adaptations improving health and physical efficiency.
-
Muscular strength training: involves resistance exercises that promote muscle hypertrophy and increase strength, helping to prevent age-related functional decline in daily activities.
Physical exercise plays a key role in the prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity, contributing to energy expenditure, body composition regulation, and metabolic health
