Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student knows and can apply formal, ontological and computational methods to deal with the semiotic interpretation of multimodal data and content. The interpretations considered will concern different ontological levels. A 4E (embodied, enactive, embedded, extended) approach will be assumed.

Course contents

This course covers interdisciplinary research across semiotics, ontology, artificial intelligence, and cognitive science.

Teaching methods

The course will be given in 2-hours slots, with mixed lectures and hands-on sessions.

Assessment methods

A final exam will consist of a small model on a specific topic agreed with the teacher, and a brief discussion. Depending on the number of students attending the course, it might be the case that a written exam will be proposed instead.
