The students acquire in-depth knowledge of the mathematical foundation of the Finite element Method. They are proficient in using a commercial FEM code to solve structural dynamic and static problems.

Oral exam with questions on the topics covered in class, starting from the discussion of the exercises.


Presentation of group projects and oral interview with questions on the topics covered in class.


The exam method is designed to evaluate the knowledge and skills acquired and the methods of managing team work and of presenting the results.

Presentations using PowerPoint slides and instructor's notes projected in the classroom using a tablet.
