Course contents
STARTING FROM THE A.Y. 2018/19, THE COURSE PARTICIPATES IN THE INNOVATIVE TEACHING EXPERIMENTATION OF THE DEGREE PROGRAM, INTEGRATED WITH THE OTHER COURSES OF THE FIRST YEAR.
The course, through the discussion of theoretical and methodological topics and the analysis of experiences, will address some fundamental concepts of studies on design and evaluation in the educational field, also connecting them to the literature on research methodology and procedures in education.
Specifically, the Lecture will address the topics of design and evaluation in the educational field with three particular focuses:
-
Critically reflecting on the theoretical and methodological issues that concern these two fundamental areas of educational professionalism, also in connection with the different paradigms and approaches of empirical research and evaluative research in education;
-
Analyzing situations and concrete cases of the application of design and evaluation methodologies in the educational contexts of social distress;
-
Simulating designs in the field of social distress that reflect a solid methodological and cultural preparation.
Moreover, students will be required to work in groups in order to learn collaborative design methods, and the use of educational design procedures as a transversal structure will be promoted, utilizing various and multiple disciplinary contents related to social distress.

Teaching methods
The lessons include moments of theoretical deepening accompanied by moments of project practice. In particular, students are required to complete a project work to be carried out in groups during the lesson period.
Specifically, attending students will be involved in preparing a Project Work in integration with the teachings of Professors Biolcati and Palareti. This will be an educational design work based on a specific concrete context and according to the instructions provided in class and in the study texts. This group work will constitute an important part of the overall exam evaluation.
Students will receive feedback on their projects from both the course Lecture and experts from the design field, who will be invited to share their professional experiences in the classroom.
