Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student posses the fundamental knowledges and the clinical methodology to: -assess the presence of a real emergency on the basis of the physical examination and the results of some biochemical and instrumental basic tests; -consider the possibility of a differential diagnosis and start the initial therapeutic actions; -establish and step up a therapeutical itinerary for the middle term and send the patient to a Specialistic Structure.

Teaching methods
The Course of "Medical and Surgical Emergency" is made-up by 1 CFU (Internal Medicine 2, SSD: MED/09) + 2 CFU (Anestesiology 2, SSD:MED/41) + 1 CFU (General Surgery 3, SSD:MED/18) + 1 CFU (Maxillofacial Surgery, SSD:MED/29) of oral lessons.
Assessment methods
At the end of the Course, an exam will verify the level of knowledge of the arguments of the Course content. The exam consist in an written test that comprise an evaluation as a grade of out of 30. A negative evaluation does not imply the allocation of a grade on mark, but merely an evaluation reported on the record (either withdrawn or failed): this evaluation is not included in the curriculum and does not affect the average of the final grade. Also the "refuse" of the final evaluation will be registered in Almaesami according to the accademic rules. To state the oral test it is necessary to register via Internet on Almaesami within the established time. The sessions of exams will be unfolded at the end of the Course of lectures. The registration of the result of the written test will be done on Almaesami by the professor in charge of this dudy. For the registration of the result of the test on Almaesami it is not necessary, for the student, to be present. For the students of the previous academic years still in possession of the paper booklet, the registration of the final vote on the booklet will be done at the end of the oral test. Remind to the students that to state the oral test it is necessary to show up with the University Card and a valid Document of Identification.
To comply with the italian rule for the privacy the student must use for the e-mail comunication only the institutional mailbox (name.surname@studio.unibo.it or other university mailbox).
Graduation of the vote
The test is carried out by multiple-response test and open questions. Multiple-response quiz is 15 and the score is +2 if correct, -1 if wrong and 0 if not. The open questions, number of 3, have scores of +3 if correct, +3 if wrong and minus 1 if absent.
The time available to the student for the written test is 35 minutes. The use of supporting material as textbooks, notes, computer media shall not be permitted during the test.
The maximum score obtainable by providing all exact and complete answers is thus 30 and praise.
The test shall be performed with a minimum score of 18/30.
