Learning outcomes

1. knowing the ethical and medico-legal aspects of shared care planning establishd by law 219/17; 2. knowing the psychological and relational problems of shared care planning, particularly in the case of chronic-degenerative diseases; 3. knowing the foundations of palliative care regulated by law 38/2010; 4. knowing how to promote a shared decision-making process within a care relationship, in the light of prognostic factors, with a view to personalizing care; 5. being able to apply the acquired knowledge to concrete situations in terms of communication, sharing and preparation and/or modification of shared care plans, including the appointment of a trustee.

Course contents

The module include topic related to relationship,  shared decion and collaboration

In particular, the following topics will be addressed:

1. Care relationship:fundamentals and skills

2. Shared advance care planning: the complexity of disclosure of significnt health informations

3. Shared decision making: Active listening and the process of sharing

4.collaborative care: models and involvement

During the course, the teaching material will be provided and the presentations of the lessons will be available on Virtuale.

Assessment methods

The exam will consist of a single test for all the 3 Laboratory's modules.

It will be a written assignment, consisting of 5 closed-ended questions, 3 open-ended but restricted questions and 2 open-ended questions.

The questions are aimed at ascertaining the adequacy of the knowledge acquired regarding the topics of the course and the ability to organize and integrate relevant information.

Passing the exam is based on the correctness, completeness, adequacy and articulation of the answers.

At the end of the course the students will receive an example of how the questions will be structured.

Students will have 30 minutes to complete the task and the outcome of the verification will be PASSED or NOT PASSED.
