Learning outcomes
The course is intended for absolute beginners. It will teach the Ukrainian alphabet, pronunciation, transliteration and then move on to grammar embedded in everyday communicative contexts. The course also looks at key elements of Ukrainian history and culture. By the end of the course, the student: - knows the basic elements of Ukrainian language and culture; - is able to understand and produce written texts and oral speech, expressing himself/herself with relative fluency and spontaneity; - knows the basic problems and strategies of dialogic interpretation; - is able to use them in elementary communicative situations.
Course contents
