Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will have knowledge on the influence of climate change and globalization on vector-borne infections. The students will have knowledge on the Neglected Tropical Diseases according to the WHO classification and will be able to describe the importance of parasitic infections in a globalized world.

The threat of vector borne infections in a globalized world

Neglected tropical diseases (NTD) and their global spread

Reducing the impact of climate change on infectious diseases: the role of Non Governative Organizations (NGOs)

Teaching methods

Frontal lectures, seminars from experts, in-class group work. This course is part of the University's teaching experimental project. 

Assessment methods

Students are required to attend at least 60% of classes for credit.

Final grade consists of 50% interactive work in groups and 50% individual written assignment on a topic assigned in the course.
