Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 2018, conducting research in the field of Medical Parasitology. Her work focuses on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and drug discovery of human leishmaniasis.
She teaches several courses at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, University of Bologna, including Microbiology, Clinical Microbiology, Mycology and Parasitology, Tropical Diseases and Travel Medicine, and Infections and Infectious Diseases in a Globalized World.
She serves on the Steering Committee of LeishMan, a network of specialists from 13 European countries dedicated to harmonizing the diagnosis and treatment of leishmaniasis across Europe.
She is the focal point for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Italy at the University of Bologna.
