Course contents

Workshop on planning and production of dance events in the landscape

(by the cultural association DANZA URBANA ETS)

The workshop offers the necessary tools for the conception, planning and organization of a dance event, or of any live performing art event, in non-theatrical contexts. It includes a theoretical introduction on the relationship between public space, landscape and performance, followed by: context analysis, definition of an artistic program and economic plan; production planning; construction of a specific promotion and communication plan. The students will learn by doing both individually and collectively by developing a project field work of a dance/performative event, specifically conceived for the Bologna urban area.

Site inspections and peripatetic itineraries for the analysis of the locations, and meetings with choreographers are foreseen.

Assessment methods

Students will be assessed during the lessons, based on their active participation. Students will be requested to prepare a curatorial project of dance in the landscape after prior agreement with the teacher.
