- will know how to deal with other subjects on the methods of use and documentation of the techniques learned;

- knows how to place the specific knowledge learned in different types of service;

- will know how to evaluate the limits and merits of the technical instruments learned; - will know how to transfer the technologies learned in different contexts by making personal modifications and additions.

Course contents

The course aims to deepen and experiment with different investigative devices peculiar to applied anthropological research in order to provide students with tools for the design and management of educational interventions aimed at contrasting social distress and promoting cultural mediation.

Students will integrate the different fieldwork strategies (participant observation, conversation, in-depth interview, focus group) with the aim of enhancing them both in the critical analysis of the organizational contexts in which they will work and in the design and evaluation of interventions in the socio-educational field.

The course will bring together short moments dedicated to the in-depth study of some theoretical-methodological concepts, critical discussion of case studies, individual and group exercises dedicated to the construction of research tools (interview protocol; outline for the focus group; grid for participant observation; research diary), simulations and brief ethnographic explorations.
