Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student - knows the basic theoretical and practical tools for the recovery interventions of the building heritage; - will be able to formulate technical-economic assessments on the effectiveness of technical intervention solutions.

Course contents

Definition of building recovery: ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, restoration and conservative rehabilitation, building renovation.

Teaching methods

Module 1 is coordinated with module 2 of the course. The course consists of some introductory theory lessons and a design exercise relating to the recovery of an existing building.

Assessment methods

Single final exam for modules 1 and 2: discussion of the group project (modules 1 and 2); recognition of the state of degradation of a building through the display of a series of images and related intervention proposal (module 2).
