Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is knowing the anatomical micro- and macro-organization of the Central and Peripheral Nervous System, as movement’s planner and manager.

Course contents

Cellular organization in neural tissue: neuroglia and neurons. Synaptic comunication.

The brain and cranial nerves.

Cranial meninges and cerebrospinal fluid.

The cord and spinal nerves. Sensory and motor tracts of the spinal cord.

General and special senses. Reflexes.

Autonomic Nervous System.

General and special senses: receptors, reflexes, vestibular complex and equilibrium and the eye.

Teaching methods

Frontal lessons (or blended on MS Teams) with slides

Assessment methods

Examination by about 30 closed-ended questions.

It is necessary passing the examination to approach the following optional oral exam.

To be admitted to the exam, it is necessary booking in special electronic list on line, in respect of the deadline.

If you can’t booking, please contact the didactics secretary promptly and before the deadline: the professor will agree or not with the booking, evaluating the specific case. The final vote formal registration will occur on the estabilished date on Almaesami system.
