Learning outcomes
At the end of the elective course the students will be able to: - understand the psychophysiopathological mechanisms that lead to the development of psychosomatic disorders in the context of the most recent and accredited theoretical frameworks. - to properly diagnose psychosomatic disorders and to plan an effective therapy. - of critical analysis and evaluation of complex clinical pictures. - to communicate with the patient and specialist interlocutors in scientifically correct and clinically effective terms. - to acquire the learning skills necessary to identify and direct the patient towards adequate medical and psychotherapeutic therapy.

Vulnerability factors and protection in health and disease development.
Chronic stress, somatic symptoms and somatization
Psychosomatics and cardiovascular diseases.
Psychosomatics and gastrointestinal diseases.
Psychosomatics and gynecological diseases.

Teaching methods
Frontal lecture, discussion of clinical cases with the aid of films, Group supervision of clinical cases.
Assessment methods
Class attendance will be monitored for the learning and assessment process. Learning will be assessed through the presentation and discussion of a clinical case. The test involves group work and involves a suitability.
