Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student has the tools and skills necessary to understand the problems related to taxation of the tax system, public debt and fiscal policy.
Course contents
1) Introduction to the Welfare Economics
2) Public goods, externalities and market failure
3) The theory of collective choices
4) The theory of taxation (public revenues; taxonomy of taxes; criteria for sharing the tax burden and equity of taxation; the distortionary effects of taxation)
5) The theory of public debt
6) Pensions

Assessment methods
The exam is aimed at verifying the achievement of the following educational objectives:
1) knowledge of the theoretical tools illustrated during the lectures
2) ability to use these tools to concretely analyze real and financial phenomena related to public intervention in the economy
The exam consists of at least one written test.
The text of the exam will contain questions of theory and questions in the form of a numerical exercises.
