Learning outcomes
At the end of the workshop the student - is able to use different intervention methods and to place the specific knowledge on the basis of different organizational functions; - is able to have a confrontation with others about the cognitive and meta-cognitive dimensions of the educational process as well as on the social and ethical responsibilities in practising the profession; - is able to analyze case studies in different contexts, doing reflections about the applied method.
Course contents
Social Planning. A skill for Educators
The social and cultural Educators “will know the legislation pertaining to the personal services, their organisation and structure and know how to operate within them, but they also will possess good skills for analysing social and territorial contexts. They will be able to work in groups in an effective and proactive fashion, they will know the principles of effective communication and know how to use them within the contexts of small and large groups; (…) will have a good command of the knowledge pertaining to sciences of education, conception, planning and evaluating educational interventions and project” (course website, Presentation).
So this workshop will focus on planning, managing, evaluating educational social project;
- The method of project managing for the Expert in social and cultural education: fundamental elements centering on the client.
- The Project Cycle Management for the Expert in social and cultural education.
- The method in project planning in NGOs.

Teaching methods
In the workshop we will use active methodologies such as group exercises, role playing, simulations and analysis of the case, active lessons based on the characteristics of the group classroom. It will be proposed to the participants to produce documents, during the meeting. At the end of the course it will be asked a short paper summary of the experience. It's therefore essential a continuous and active attendance.
Assessment methods
There are no formal tests relating to learning; however, it requires the constant, active participation. The final assessment is not expressed in a numeric value.
