Learning outcomes

The course will provide knowledge about the indications, the role, the mechanism of action, the technical details and the metabolic and anatomical outcomes of surgical procedures for the treatment of obesity

Course contents

The learning program include the following topics:

- rationale of surgical treatment for the morbid obesity and associated complications

- guidelines for the indication to the surgical treatment

- surgical techniques

- complications and outcomes of the different surgical treatments

- role of the multidisciplinary team in the preoperative assessment and followup

- role of the dietician in the evaluation and outpatient followup
