Course contents
During the lessons, students will be guided in the dramaturgical and morphological analysis of excerpts from W. A. Mozart's last operas: Le nozze di Figaro (1786), Don Giovanni (1787), Così fan tutte, or La scuola degli amanti (1790), La clemenza di Tito (1791). Particular attention will be paid to the dramatic sources, the analytical reading of the librettos and the main dramaturgical-musical devices that guided their writing, in relation to the 17th-17th century theatrical and musical tradition.

Lectures, with guided analysis of the libretto, listening and analysis of the score.
Assessment methods
In the examination (oral interview), students must demonstrate knowledge of the bibliography.
Students in the Music curriculum are required to have an analytical knowledge of the score of the work. The candidate must report on the relative poetic, narrative, and theatrical structure; on musical morphology; and on the relationship with literary sources.
Students from the Theatre curriculum and other degree courses are exempt from in-depth knowledge of the score; however, they must know Mozart's work on the basis of repeated listening and analysis of the poetic, narrative, theatrical structure (also in relation to the literary source).
Possession of the rudiments of Italian metrics and versification will be ascertained during the interview.
Students with DSA or temporary or permanent disabilities: it is advisable to get in touch immediately with the University office responsible and with the lecturer in order to seek together the most effective strategies for following the lessons and/or preparing for the exam.
