Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student - knows the main psychological theories involved in group dynamics and conflicts; - has an in-depth knowledge of the theoretical and methodological aspects involved in the mediation process; - knows the general lines of national and European policies in the field of mediation; - is able to design and manage a mediation intervention; - has the competences to evaluate a mediation intervention; - is able to design team building activities; - has the competences to evaluate a team building intervention; - has the competences to manage group dynamics in a mediation intervention; - has the competences to manage group dynamics through outdoor training activities - has the theoretical and methodological competences to build a network work with different professional figures and other bodies present on the territory; - is able to manage and promote empowerment behaviours in social actors; - has the competences to coordinate evaluation activities of a mediation intervention in solving conflicts between parties - is able to write using the main text editors; - has the competences to communicate in written and oral form the results of one's own studies and/or interventions in a clear and thorough manner; - is able to independently apply the psychosocial competences acquired to integrate into the world of work and according to the needs of the territory.
Course contents
The programme covers:
- Main concepts and theories of social psychology: social perception, the self, attitudes, prejudices and stereotypes, aggressive behaviour and conflict resolution
- Social psychology applied to the early childhood context: everyday life as a social process, designing everyday life at the crèche, the child and the encounter with the other

Teaching methods
The course is organised on the basis of:
- lectures supported by PowerPoint slides
- supporting material taken from different disciplinary fields (literature, cinema, essay writing)
- videos
Assessment methods
At the end of the lessons, the student have to take an exam (the assessments will be with scale 30). The exam will be a writing with three open questions . A positive result is conditional on answering all three questions.
In order to take the exam, electronic registration is required, in compliance with mandatory deadlines.
In case of exams with a large number of participants, correction before the next exam may not be guaranteed. However, the six annual exams per student will be guaranteed.
ERASMUS students can choose to perform a written or oral form, always with the same modalities.
Teaching tools
Lessons will be accompanied by PowerPoint slides.
Students with DSA or disabilities: it is recommended that they contact the responsible University office as soon as possible. The request for adaptation must be submitted in advance (15 days before the exam date) to the lecturer, who will assess the appropriateness of the adjustments, considering the teaching objectives.
