Learning outcomes

The student acquires the knowledge and the ability to understand the clinical pictures related to the pathologies of the central and peripheral nervous system.

Course contents

The course aims to provide the student with the essential elements in the field of neurology, with specific reference to the clinical aspects to know:

  1. the bases of the pathophysiology of the peripheral nervous system and of neurological semeiotics, in order to be able to differentiate normal from abnormal objective signs of the central and peripheral nervous system
  2. the main pathologies of the peripheral nervous system
  3. the main laboratory and instrumental methods that can be used in the neurological field and their diagnostic and prognostic significance.

Oral test

  • Attendance at educational activities is mandatory; the minimum attendance requirement to be admitted to the final exam is 75% of the lessons. For integrated courses (CI), the 75% attendance requirement refers to the total lessons of the CI. Students who do not meet the minimum attendance requirement will not be admitted to the final exam of the course and will have to attend the lessons again in the following academic year.
  • Every topic covered in class may be subject to examination.
  • Students with learning disorders and\or temporary or permanent disabilities: please, contact the office responsible (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/en/for-students) as soon as possible so that they can propose acceptable adjustments. The request for adaptation must be submitted in advance (15 days before the exam date) to the lecturer, who will assess the appropriateness of the adjustments, taking into account the teaching objectives.
  • The exam will be passed if the result is at least sufficient, that is, 18 out of 30.
  • The final grade will derive from the integration of the individual grades from the various teachings of the integrated course.
