Academic Year 2017/2018

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Ravenna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in History, preservation and enhancement of artistic and archaeological heritage and landscape (cod. 9218)

Learning outcomes

The course offers the tools to analyze networks and cultural systems (between institutions, museums, archives, libraries, communities). The student will be able to study and develop integrated cultural strategies, proposing general solutions about mission, technical administration, management, organization, business plan.

Course contents

Course’s aim is the analysis of a contemporary phenomenon: building museum’s networks and systems to manage an increasing supply of cultural goods in spite of the weak economical sustainability of the cultural heritage institutions. Main actors of building networks are public powers and, in general, local or regional (in Italy and in other European countries); but State engagement in this field is not negligible, direct or indirect. Discovering the economical and political rhetoric concerning “networks” and “systems”, the student will be able to analyze the actual situation in Italy and in other European countries and to search a practical application in the cultural, economical, institutional field.
