Learning outcomes
Analysis of the note-taking technique among students.
Course contents
Students will focus their studies on note-taking techniques.
Exercices will be done individually or in group using from simple to more complex texts.
A great deal of attention will be paid on the way students present their speeches and their mastery of the foreing language.
Content of the course:
- Introduction of the conference interpreter profile (history and their work in the international organisations);
- Sight translations and memorisation exercices. Ability in summary and reformulation;
- Speeches and note-taking. Text difficulty will gradually increase. Group exercices will see a student taking the consecutive on the white-board with other students comments once the student has delivered his/her speech;
