Learning outcomes

Fundamentals of signals analysis and processing. Analog to Digital conversion. Elements of probability and statistics.

Course contents

- Introduction: signals and their processing. Communication systems and networks.
- Analysis of signals through the Fourier transform. Continuos-time and discrete-time signals and their spectral characterization.
- Linear time-invariant systems. The system transfer function.
- Baseband analog and digital signals. Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion.
- Finite power signals, power spectrum.
- Elements of probability theory.
