Course contents

- Definition, partition, tasks and methodology of forensic medicine. The institute's expertise, technical advice.
- Complaints, reports and certifications health: report and in particular the relationship. - The code of medical ethics. Professional secrecy and protection of sensitive personal data concerning health. - The voluntary and compulsory medical treatment. The informed consent. - The causal material. The crime of beatings and personal injury. Murder and suicide. Euthanasia and the right to death. The infanticide. - Crimes against sexual freedom. The legislation on maternity protection: medico-legal issues of abortion. Conscientious objection. Assisted procreation. Genetics and DNA evidence in family law and criminal investigation. - Introduction to forensic psychopathology: the neuro-physiological bases of psychic activities; descriptive psychopathology, the concept of disease in forensic psychiatry. The alcoholic psychosis and drug addiction. Attributability and responsibilities. The social dangerousness. Interdiction and incapacitation. - Thanatology. The legislation on transplants and the Rules of police mortuary. The sudden death. The judicial inspection. - Forensic Traumatology: blunt injuries, the major trauma; cause injury from the weapon, and the harmfulness gunshot. - The violent mechanical asphyxia. - The social security system: accident at work, occupational diseases, the social protection of the disabled and dell'inabile. - The health care system: the National Health Service; civil disability, handicap. - The assessment of the damage to the person, the biological damage and the damage existential. - The drug laws.

Teaching methods

Teaching takes place in the traditional manner. During the lessons will be discussed case studies on the topics covered by the teacher.

Assessment methods

The exam is oral and includes questions aimed at assessing theoretical learning by the student of the basic elements of forensic science, knowledge of which is useful to the professional training of lawyers. Please note that the lectures will be held in the first half and then those who get the attending students Current will take the exam in the month of January 2015.

Prerequisites
This examination may be taken only after you have passed the examination of Criminal Law.
