Course contents
This is not a course on translation theory, which has little or nothing to do with practical translation. Instead the course will involve the students in a functional and active approach. A series of materials to be translated into English, chosen and provided by the instructor, will form the object of discussion and cooperative translation with tha active participation of all of the students.

Teaching methods
Oral translation in class and written translation at home of passages in modern Italian representative of a range of subject matters and stylistic registers.
Assessment methods
Participation in class, homework, final written examination.

Dictionaries, monolingual and bilingual, thesauruses (or "thesauri"), Internet.
