Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is able to use one of the most widely used statistical software. In particular, the student is able to (i) compute and interpret summary statistics and plot graphical representations of data,  (ii) carry out statistical analysis on real data.

Course contents

Introduction to the software "R". Summary statistics with R. Probability and simulations with R. Practical application of inferential procedures: inference for a mean and a proportion, analysis of variance, inference for two-way contingency tables, linear regression. 


Assessment methods

Practical ecam in the computer lab.
