Learning outcomes
Course contents
The English-Italian translation course will deal with tourist, commercial and legal texts that were translated as professional assignments from translation agencies. Goals: to train students to deal with the various types of texts they are likely to encounter in a professional setting; to increase their awareness of the resources available on the web, while at the same time enabling them to assess the reliability of the materials found on the web. During the classes in the IT laboratory students will use the Internet to select relevant parallel texts which will be used to build reference corpora and glossaries as aids in the translation process.
Readings/Bibliography
Set reading and texts to be translated will be provided at the
beginning of the course.
Teaching methods
Lectures; working groups; IT laboratory work.
