Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to enable the understanding and assessing of the main Economical and Financial Plan Documents at the national level as well as at the European and the International ones. The course is also aiming at giving the elements and methods to evaluate the economic policies through the use of regional and national databases.

Course contents

The course is subdivide into two sections.

Italian political economy

- Introduction to political economy;

- The development and the Italian economic trends in the latter postwar;

- The Italian endogenous models and local systems;

- Some Italian structural problems: the national debt, the South of Italy, the employment, the unemployment;

- Analysis of the main documents of political economy (DPEF, Financial Act, etc.).

World development and EU policy

- The born and the working of the European institutions;

- The European budget;

- The single market;

- The main European union policies: regional and cohesion policies, agricultural policy;

- The economic and monetary union;

- The enlargement of the European union and the role of the UE in the world;
