Course contents

Climate and agricultural plants. Main physical, chemical and biological properties of soils. Interrelationships between water, air and soil. Cropping systems and general crop management. Elements of crop rotation and association, water management, fertilization. Weed management: Chemical weed control: herbicide use, selectivity, formulation, ecotoxicology and legislation. Environmental fate of herbicides: degradation, adsorption, volatilisation, leaching, runoff and plant absorption.
