Patrick George Zaky, a student of the international Erasmus Master Mundus "Gemma" in Women's and Gender Studies, was arrested last week in Cairo by Egyptian police. A hearing has been set for 22 February.
The Student Council of the University of Bologna appeals to the entire university community, to the citizens and to all the people who wish to express closeness and support to this cause. The Alma Mater and the Municipality of Bologna are fully supporting this initiative.
The march will take place on Monday 17 February at 6 pm. The meeting point is in front of the Rectorate, via Zamboni 33, the demonstration will then march to Piazza Maggiore, showing solidarity with Patrick, strongly demanding that his rights are respected and that he can return to attend his classes at the University of Bologna as soon as possible.
