Erasmus Charter for Higher Education

The European Commission has recently awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education to the University of Bologna. The Charter will allow the participation of the University of Bologna to compete for the available funds in the framework of the new Programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport "Erasmus +" in the period 2021 – 2027.

The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education  provides the general quality framework for European and international cooperation activities a higher education institution (HEI) may carry out within the Programme Erasmus + and it is the necessary requirement for the participation in the Programme.

Through the Charter the University of Bologna is committed to the respect of qualitative requirements for the Erasmus EU and international mobility. Those requirements concern both the respect of fundamental principles of credit recognition and non-discrimination of students interested in international activities, and the provision of quality services in support to student and academic staff mobility.

The Charter 2021 – 2027, for the first time, in addition to the definition of the international strategy of the University, includes the description on how the institution intends to adhere to the new principles of the Programme, namely Inclusion, Digitalization, Green Sustainability and Civic Engagement.
