Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the students should know the literature of the 20th Century and the contemporary literature. Moreover, they should be able to understand and contextualize a text in German language.

Course contents

The Dream in the Literature oft he 20th and 21st Century

The course deals with the relationship between dream and literature and it considers German literature from the beginning of the 20th Century up to today. In particular, the course will analyse works by these authors: Franz Kafka, Nelly Sachs, Paula Ludwig, Ingeborg Bachmann, Yoko Tawada, Durs Grünbein.

The oral exam consists of 3 questions; the first question is based on the paper prepared during the course.
