Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the students should know the literature of the 20^th Century and the contemporary literature. Moreover, they should be able to understand and contextualize a text in German language.

Course contents

The Dream in the Literature oft he 20^th and 21^st Century

The course deals with the relationship between dream and literature and it considers German literature from the beginning of the 20^th Century up to today. In particular, the course will analyse works by these authors: Franz Kafka, Nelly Sachs, Paula Ludwig, Ingeborg Bachmann, Yoko Tawada, Durs Grünbein.

The oral exam consists of 3 questions; the first question is based on the paper prepared during the course.
