Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology at the University of Padova from 1993 to 2003 and at the University of Bologna since 2004. She works in the field of plant pathology and food safety. Her research interests are mainly towards the phytopathological bacteriology, plant-bacterium molecular interactions, aspects of the plant immune system, aetiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis and diagnosis of diseases caused by phytopathogenic bacteria and the identification and molecular characterization of fungi as biological control agents of fungal diseases. The most recent scientific activity has focused on the role of natural antioxidants in enriched diets on meat quality and on biological control strategies with the use of natural substances and essential oils against phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi of the plant microbiota and against the production of mycotoxins. She has published in national and international journals and presented in national and international congresses as oral or poster communications.
She is part of the Thematic Group (TG) "Plant Health" of DISTAL established in October 2020
