Xylella emergency: science at the center of solutions
Xylella fastidiosa has created strong environmental and landscape impacts as well as social tensions and economic damage in Southern Italy (Puglia region). The CNR has played a leading role first in the study of the pathogen and, subsequently, in the search for solutions aimed at containing its spread in order to achieve the coexistence of olive/agricultural activities in the infected areas.
On 16 March at the Polytechnic of Bari, on the occasion of the centenary of the foundation of the CNR, a meeting was held to discuss new research strategies also with institutions and representatives of the stakeholders involved.
