Adamo Domenico Rombola'  got the master degree cum laude in Agricultural Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture of Bologna University with a thesis in Farm Organization and Management, title "Effects of Common Agricultural Policy's Reform on farm decisions". PhD degree in Fruit Trees and Woody Plant Sciences, Thesis "Physiological and biochemical aspects of iron nutrition in Actinidia (Actinidia deliciosa). He is Associate Professor at the Department of Agricultural Sciences of Alma Mater - Bologna University. Professor of Viticulture, Plant Production, Fruit Quality Management. Invited Professor of the Course "Agroecological systems for agricultural production", PhD Course Unicentro, Brazil. Professor of Agroecology and Tutor of Collegio Superiore-Univerity of Bologna. Creator of the Program "Education on Two Wheels". He has the National Scientific Habilitation as Full Professor in the sector 07/B2 - Science and Technology of woody and forestry systems. He gave courses of Fruit Trees Growing abroad. Tutor of the Thesis of 80 students. Co-Tutor of the Thesis of 21 students. Tutor of 3 PhDs, Co-Tutor of 4 PhDs attending PhD courses abroad, Tutor of 6 foreign Post-docs and Tutor of the Internship of more than 180 students and researchers. He participated to 15 Evaluating Committees for International PhD courses (14 of them abroad). Peasant, Appassionato della Natura, producer of organic wine and olive oil His main research areas are: 1) Nutrition of woody crops, 2) Sustainable management of soil and water resources in woody crops, 3) Quality of fruits of woody crops, 4) Viticulture, 5) Ecophysiology of woody crops, 6) Development, management and dissemination of agroecological and agroforestry systems, 7) Protection and valorization of woody species biodiversity,  8) Education on water for local sustainable development. He participated and coordinated national and international research projects. He published more than 150 papers, 75 of which in international IF Journals, 2 book chapters and participated as invited speakers to international simposia. He has been secretary and member of the scientific and editorial board of the "National Symposium on Fruit Tree Crops Nutrition" (Bologna, 2005), Member of the editorial board of the International Symposium ISHS "Foliar nutrition of perennial fruit plants" (Meran, 2001).

He is member of the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology (ASVO), the American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV), the International Society for Horticultural Sciences (ISHS), the Group of International Experts of Vitivinicultural Systems for Cooperation (GiESCO), the Italian Society of Horticulture (SOI), Italian Mycological Society (UMI-APS). Associate Editor in Frontiers in Horticulture-Pomology and Viticulture. He is Member of the Editorial Board of Plant and Soil, Frontiers in Plant Science, Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, Agronomy, Journal of Raw Materials to Processed Foods. He is referee of several international Journals (Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research, Plant and Soil, Plant and Cell Physiology, Plos one, Land Degradation and Development and others). Member of Board Bolognese Apennines Biological District, Regional Solidarity Economy Forum, Overseas-UNIBO, UNAEUROPA One Health, Interdipartimental Research Centre of Unibo Healthy Planet. Coordinator of several cooperation agreements with Foreign Universities and Research Centers. Coordinator of the International Project Participatory AgroEcology School System (PASS) and International Schools fo AgroEcology.
