Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student understands the importance of Francophone literature in European tradition and the dialectic with European tradition on the part of Francophone literatures worldwide. The student commands an identitarian view of each of the literatures surveyed and an anthropological view of the elements that the various cultural zones in which Francophone literatures are present have in common.
Course contents
Title of the course: Le théâtre autochtone contemporain au Québec
The student has in-depth knowledge of the history and development of non-European literature in the French language, with particular attention to the relationship between literary texts and the historical, artistic and linguistic context of Quebec. The course proposes the study of contemporary autochthonous theatre in relation to the Quebecer theatre of which a panorama is given from its origins to the present day. The student has high skills of understanding and critical analysis of the cultural specificities of the geographical area studied. He knows and knows how to use practical methodologies for the analysis and interpretation of literary texts. Is able to elaborate complex analyses and to formulate autonomous reflections on specific research topics.

Teaching methods
The program is built on multiple voices, in collaboration with professors from Quebec University specialists in the history of theatre. It will also focus on textual analysis and literary history.
Assessment methods
The evaluation could be defined as "à la carte" because the student has the opportunity to choose between different methods of verification.
In the middle of the course there will be an intermediate test on the first part of the course that preceded two open donations. If the student accepts the grade of this test, he can complete the exam in two distinct ways: either by submitting a 5-page paper at the end of the course to be discussed during the exam or through an oral. Students who have not completed the intermediate course must take the exam on the whole programme (Part I and II).
The evaluation of the thesis follows this score (total 30):
5 points: Structure of work.
5 points : Exhibition clarity
5 points : Bibliography/Website presence (max 10 references)
6 points: Knowledge of the theoretical tools presented during the course
6 points: Ability to reuse the knowledge acquired during the course
3 points : Personal contribution to the text
For the oral evaluation:
The critical and methodological skills of the/ a student/ it, which must also propose its own analysis of the works. It is important that the student/ she knows how to demonstrate their ability to read and analyze a text by making it interact with the problems and theoretical texts proposed in class. A broad vision of the problems, linked to a punctual ability of textual analysis and the demonstration of a good knowledge of the French language will be appreciated. The flat and repetitive knowledge of the work, a knowledge of the language not very correct lead to an average assessment. Large gaps and poor knowledge of the language lead to a negative assessment.
